Wapsie Park

Wapsie Park is managed by the Wapsi Park Board. The Wapsi Park Board does a variety of activities that help make the park more enjoyable and fun for everyone.


Wapsie Park features a covered shelter that can be rented for private events. Features include a playground, swing set, walking trail, ball field, and disk golf.

Wapsie Park also allows camping within the park.

Mil Walkway

At the end of 3rd Avenue S

Mil Walkway is a historic railway route that has been converted into a beautiful walking trail. Mil Walkway is open to the public year-round and is a great place to take a stroll or walk your furry friends!

McCreight Park

218 Broadway St

McCreight Park is located near the town center on Broadway Street. McCreight Park is a small park featuring a covered seating area. Be sure to stop at McCreight Park in December to view the christmas display!

Oxford Junction Wildlife Area

Highway 136 near the edge of city limits

The Oxford Junction Wildlife Area is owned and managed by the Iowa DNR.


The Oxford Junction Wildlife Area features:

  • Hunting

  • Trails

  • Parking

  • Prairie land

  • Wetlands

  • Birdwatching

  • Fishing


The Wildlife area is open daily from 4:30am - 10:00pm

Historic City Jail

1st Avenue S

The exact date that the jail was built is not known. The jail was mainly used to house a disorderly person . In 1995 it was opened as a historical site. It is located on 1st Avenue S.
